Exercises:
There are different practices that can increase our connection to the sentient world, that activate our senses, presence, and heighten our perceptions. These practices can include: meditation, expressive art techniques (such as dance, sounding, visual art, and theater), active imagination, working with the materials of the earth (leather, tool making, cordage, etc…), living in and with natural environments, ingesting mind altering substances, ritual, prayer, music, and trance (through a variety of methods listed above). These methods employ the senses, simultaneous perception, imagination, image, and altering of time and space.
The following are exercises that can be used to guide people into a state where their senses and imagination are utilized to connect and increase communication between them and their surroundings. These exercise utilizes the components of the senses, simultaneous perception, synaesthesia, imagination, image, altering space and time, and sentience to create a reciprocal awareness, connection and communication between the human and non-human.
